The station was closed Sunday due to inclement weather from Tropical Low Pressure Trough Erika, and the strong thunderstorms that rocked the whole county Saturday night also caused a fallout of migrants at Cape Florida and many other locations area wide. Today we were able to open nets and see who was still around under clear blue skies.
Prairie warblers, Ovenbirds, American redstarts and Worm-eating warblers were dominant. We banded 48 birds of 8 species today, all warblers bound for the Caribbean.
