A few new birds

Black-throated blue warbler female (photo by Steffanie Munguia)

Today was fairly slow banding wise but it was steady and the diversity went back up a bit. There were fewer catbirds in the woods, so some of these birds may be moving on to be replaced with birds from further north. In fact a lot of birds took advantage of the clear skies to leave tonight, so hopefully they will be replaced by birds to the north coming down. No sign of wintering species in today’s lineup and we’re still catching new Swainson’s warblers.
